As part of a promotional gimmick, the team allowed fans to vote for a team nickname. Although the reason is not certain, the majority rule chose the "Blue Jays" for the Phillies second nick name. The promotion caused much confusion with the fans, and the name was dropped after the 1945 season. Offered for this lot is a 1944-1945 professional quality jacket worn by the players. Supplied by Mitchell and Ness, the jacket remains in excellent overall condition. This is the only known example. l(06H0196)
